WHY THE SALONE INTERNAZIONALE DEL MOBILE IS AN EVENT NOT TO BE MISSED
08/04/2015
After World
War Italy and Germany really needed to be rebuilt. That has a striking impact
on economies since the demand of furnishing goods increased a lot.
Germany was
the first to experiment the realization of an exhibition entirely dedicated to
interior design and furnishing thus creating a connection between manufacturing
companies’ interests and clients’ needs. After, Italy, too, has followed German
example and in 1961 has launched the first edition of Salone del Mobile, at Rho Fiera (Milano), the
world most important showcase for
home-interior design professionals.
From that
moment on exhibitors’ number , the dedicated area and visitors number increased
in a stunning way as well as Italian furniture export ,thus proclaiming Italian
Salone del Mobile the first exhibition in the world.
The Salone
takes place every year for one week in April and over the time has allowed the
creation of several relating events such
as Fuorisalone which involves the most important Milan district areas and is
attracting more and more attention within Milan artistic and cultural scenario.
The most important
manufacturing companies, reporters and visitors from all over the world,
popular or emerging designers constantly take part into this important
event. The Salone del Mobile has seen a growth in goods demand: not only
furnishing complements but appliances, design complements, covering materials
and structural materials, too.
Last 2014
edition saw:
- 989 Exhibiting Firms
- 144,229,00 square meters of Exhibition Area
- 106,317 Italian Visitors and 205.464 Foreign Visitors
The
expectations for this 2015 edition are about an increasing number of presences.
Milan is prepared to receive about 400.000 visitors, some 100.000 more presences
than last editions.
An
exclusive event not to be missed for design professionals!
