Fabrics used in home decoration field and in clothing are divided into three big families depending on how they were originated and on the raw materials processing they underwent: natural fibers, artificial fibers and synthetic fibers.
During summertime the most used fibers are Natural fibers; they can be vegetable or animal.
The most privileged fibers in interior design are vegetable ones because we can use them to create the best window treatment curtains and textiles.
Vegetable fibers are naturally eco-friendly and among these we can surely list: cotton, linen and silk.
Due to its unquestionable conveniences: freshness, lightness and strength, cotton is the most used fiber among vegetable fibers. Cotton is not that flexible and if it undergoes frequent washing at very high temperatures it may get creased or lose its color so that it is very often combined with other fibers so it becomes a wonderful final fabrics endowed with an extraordinary elasticity and strength.
It is impossible to stand up to cotton naturalness, even more if this fabric has some floral prints on it such as Paradise v 1- 2 100% Cotton from Colette Collection, a perfect choice for light window treatment curtains and bed linen.
On the other hand, silk is one of the most elegant and refined fibers; it originates from the strenuous activity of the silkworms when they try hard turning themselves into butterflies.
Silk is so shiny, glossy and extremely light: it is perfect for window treatment curtains and bed linen such as colorful 100% silk textile Ambra from Iris Collection.
Lastly, linen has always represented a symbol of freshness; it is among the strongest and robustest vegetable fiber and it absorbs humidity perfectly, too. It donates our eyes and our touch a wonderful sensation of pureness and naturalness and that it is why we decided to dedicate this wonderful fiber an entire Collection, that’s to say, Purity Collection, made up of 100% linen window treatment curtains such as Zora article.
