WHEN FABRICS MEET ART……
15/01/2014
Velvet coils, weaves, warps and folds are the protagonists of 54 sculptures and installations exhibited at Museo di Palazzo Mocenigo in Venice, Italy, until February 14th 2014.
It’s all about Miniartextil, the contemporary textile art exhibition at its XXIII edition and dedicated to a very intriguing theme such as Eros.
“Starting from weaving metaphor meant as a bind of opposed forms, minitextiles colors and topics express Eros as the main theme of the show meaning “that outburst pushing man to value/appraise people and projects, dreams and wishes”.
This traveling exhibit (after Como and Venezia, it will take place in Mountrouge and Caudry) tells about Eros resorting to fabrics and textiles in their several and original interpretations. A strongly symbolic oriented chromatic choice dominate, using red and white shades while fibers, spins, coatings, ropes and twines include natural elements such as leaves, wood, branches and paper or clay items…
A unique textile art exhibition in Europe, showing how fabrics can tell the truth and be the go-between in the research of a dreamlike and poetic dimension of life.
