MINIARTEXTIL CELEBRATES THE EARTH

We want you to inform that, along with the very important SALONE DEL MOBILE event, another central event connected with textile field will take place.
It’s about MINIARTEXTIL, an international contemporary textile art exposition/show taking place @ Villa Olmo, (Como) from April, 5th to June 2nd2014.
The theme of this edition, which takes place for the first time in GEA springtime, is the EARTH. A title anticipating next Expo 2015 edition themes (Feeding the Planet, Energy for Life ). The show, at its 24th edition is organized by Arte&Arte and will involve this year another historic dwelling, that’s to say Villa Carlotta in Tremezzo. There will be an art installation by artist Antoon Versteegde, too.
14 is the number of the artists chosen to exhibit their installations made on purpose of this artistic fair, 54 are the exhibited minitextiles, 22 the nations.
This MINIARTEXTIL edition is dedicated to the artist Maria Lai. She passed away last year and she is considered an important reference point in international textile art with her wonderful tapestry Storia Universale (1982).
