22/04/2015

6 days, 1258 events, 15 pathways in 2015 edition instead of 2014 6 days, 986 events and 12 pathways.

During the Design week , Fuorisalone climbs over the Salone event in terms of presences and Brera becomes the most popular city area.

An unreleased film about Design Week. New openings and installations. Exhibitions, meetings, special projects, cultural venues. These are some of the elements which characterize this new edition thus giving companies the opportunity to meet thousands of visitors.

This years’ representatives were 3: designer Luca Nichetto, artist Patrick Tuttofuoco and some architects from Piuarch Studio.

Artist Martino Gamper won the “Lezioni di Design” award. He is an artist, designer and artisan who has perfectly embodied this year topic, that’s to say “Project, Shape, Identity”,  actually the idea that at the base of a creative uniqueness there is a study, a research  and therefore a project. Gamper stands out for a personal original planning/project mode, for the realization of original creations which let him design works of art with a unique identity because in Gamper’s conception “Design is a state of mind”.

On the other hand, the Milano Design Award 2015 – the award dedicated to the best Design Week installations – were Antonio Marras and Segno Italiano with their project “il sentiero dei nidi di ragno” (spiders nests’path). The installation was a perfect model of coherence and cohesion between concept and implementation, an harmonious balance of poetry and substance.

Among the events, the most impressive was “the Garden of Wonders. A Journey through Scents” within Brera botanical garden. This wonderful setting was the house of a very complex project where scent was the main topic. It was directed by eminent designers who reinterpreted the role of ancient perfumeries.
