GUIDE TO WINDOW CURTAINS MODELS

02/08/2016

Choosing your curtain for a specific setting has to do with its interior design, its rooms size, to its brightness and to its windows fixtures.

So, this is not an easy choice to make at all!

Let’s examine the most popular four main curtains models.

CLASSICAL WINDOW TREATMENT CURTAINS

They are certainly the most popular and spread model; this kind of curtains are fixed on a high rod and when we let them move quikly they will flow from the left to the right and/or viceversa.

The can be very long till they touch the ground or few centimeters can separate the floor to the ending part of it. All kind of fabrics and colors are allowed. Our own imagination is the only limit.

Classical models can be: one panel, two panel curtains or layered curtains (one main curtain and an over curtain) and the refined valance swag curtains.

PANEL CURTAINS

Due to the fact that they are fixed on a rod positioned in the highest part of the wall, Panel curtains give our setting a very neat and uniform appearance. They are always firm and open because they have got a metallic bar on the ending part of the panel.

 ROMAN BLINDS

Roman blinds are ideal for window fixtures with an outward opening or which are very often closed.

Differently from the previous models, these curtains close vertically almost “wrapping on themselves”.

There are two main roman blinds models: the firm, rigid roman blinds style which are linear and straight and the wrinckled roman blinds style also called ‘balloon curtains’. These curtains are usually made with decorated fabrics and in order to be properly manufactured these balloon curtains need more textile than the firm roman blinds.
