DEVORÉ TECHNIQUE: THE ART SPREADING FROM DISTRUCTION

Dévorè is a particular process applied in the printing phase of textile manufacturing. It was introduces in the XIX century in Lyon, France and as the name itself suggests, the French word dévorè means “devouered”.

Dévorè is still today a popular textile processing technique also used in Fashion field. Thanks to this special process, CTA creates wonderful fabrics, refined to your touch and sight, perfect for their structure and texture.

Keros article is the result of two phases’ process CTA has performed in a semi artisan way thus making it original and unique more than a refined and one-of- a- kind product.

The name of this particular technique refers to the very last phase of the printing process, that is to say, the moment when a devouring substance is added so that the destruction of the natural part of the fabric that underwent the process is complete. Later, there is the real printing process made on the intact part of the fabric.

The result of this particular process employed in fashion field and textile/contract industry is the creation of true artworks made on different kind of fabrics such as silk, velvet, in a perfect arrangement of colors and textures.
