DANCING THROUGH THE FABRICS
05/11/2014
Dance is
the main topic we have chosen for our new collection. In line with the
post-impressionist philosophy, we propose a collection whose elements are able
to allegorically represent human life
perspectives.
In their
works, only by using bright colors, Edgar Degas and Henri Matisse, could highlight
shapes not representing them that faithfully. Authentic spontaneous lines of the portrayed subjects reflect ordinary
life’s various moments without
artefacts; the continuous dancers’ movement expresses playful attitude of life
in a perpetual movement, the outstretched hand between the protagonists
indicates the connection with them, dance expressed in a circular swirl underlines the anguished feeling
connected with the need of a incessant
dancing, in line with the continual dance represented by life.
In our
collection, in order to create a three-dimensional effect taking advantage
from colors intensity, Matisse fabric
reproduces a square ruler frame on a
regular basis. The originality of a work painted by such an eminent artist
resides in the use of colors that aren’t too faithful to reality. Bright lively
colors are meant to give life and rhythm to shapes and lines in a perpetual movement.
Gauguin
fabric underlines even more this topic
of the continuous movement through an embossed embroidery thus highlighting
even the details in the artist’s brush strokes while, as in his main works of
art, lively colors are extensively used just to convey the idea of a lively and
blooming existence. Cezanne fabrics are full of excellent watercolor strokes so
that they recreate a prosperous, lush and lively nature although not that
faithfully.
In order to
represent the several frames of mind , Van Gogh fabric expresses the inner
emotion through color matching, ranging from more neutral shades to some more
energetic ones. The idea of a continuous movement is created through a wavy
movement obtained with a special finishing technique.
Monet, too,
is a very popular fabric due to its color matching, depending on the emotions we want to express:
this fabric is a bond between a glossy or opaque effect, a juxtaposition among
different tones.
Dance
creates a bond with other people: that is the way Ensor curtain together with
Van Gogh flounce unite with the under curtain Vetiver from Iris Collection thus creating a bond
between different collections.
Finally,
Redon fabric reaches an allegoric but even a surreal dimension through the
three-dimensional motif made by matching some brightly colored triangles on a
voile basis thus creating an “empty and full” effect.
