In the event of 2017 Fuorisalone edition, CTA designed along with Scene Mediterranee a new sensory and material experience called “ON THE ROAD” – the Italian Grand tour”.
In many years, Italy attracted a lot of people such as pilgrims, merchants, artists, scholars and curious people from all over the world: Rome was obviously the favorite final destination.
Only at the end of XVI century the figure of the traveler was born: he was a person whose main objective and motivation was voyage itself, the experience and sense of unknown connected with it. It is the time when the word “Tour” was born for the first time thus replacing old and outdated words “travel” and “voyage” meaning a long travel starting and finishing in the same place.
Italy was “Grand Tours” favorite final destination because of its wonderful cities, its amazing glimpses, its magical lands and ancient traditions. There is plenty of artists and authors who decided to tour Italy taking notes of everything they saw on their way and then transferring all that later in their literary masterpieces. A great example of all this is “Italian Journey” by Goethe.
Chasing the dream of an “opencast museum” meant as art in everything, the experience “ON THE ROAD – the Italian Grand Tour by Scene Mediterranee and CTA was born. People are travelers who have found a renewed pleasure in the traces of their own civilization from history and landscapes, thus translating each memory in textile and metal works.
Starting from April 4th – 9th2017, Spazio Lumera (Milan), host this experience-path. We are talking about an amazing event, which took place in Brera Design District and it was an incredible success made of great appreciation and true emotions.
