AUTUMN IN YOUR HOUSE

Because of
the chill and low temperatures, fall is the season when leaves turn into
different colors. They become red, ocher, yellow.
This is
because carotenoids (special pigments donating that typical orange color in
carrots) are contained in leaves and they remain invisible under chlorophyll
pigments (green pigment).
When summer
ends, when leaves are at their final life stage, chlorophyll ends its function
so that carotenoids’ colors stick out.
In the end,
leaves fall down, leaving trees and plants bare.
This is the
reason why autumn is commonly considered the perfect time of the year when
leaves fall down thus creating an evocative natural carpet in red, yellow,
orange and plum tones.
