2015 TREND IS INSPIRED BY A POPULAR ITALIAN LIQUOR: MARSALA
14/01/2015
Let’s welcome the 2015 leading new color, the one Pantone, which is the world eminence when it comes to colors and shades, nominated as the best color of the year.
“While the charming Radiant Orchid, year 2014 leading color, stimulated creativity and innovation, Marsala enriches our mind, our body and our soul emanating self-confidence and stability”- stated Leatrice Eiseman, Pantone Color Institute executive director, underlining that “ as the dessert wine Marsala named after the Sicilian town, this refined shade embodies that satisfying taste of a fulfilling meal, while its safe red-chestnut roots emanate a sophisticated and natural concreteness of the soil”.
What color is Marsala? It is a color very similar to Bordeaux plus it has some facets drifting towards dark chestnut color and red-brick. The2015 most trendy color is, therefore, a joy of warm and earthly nuances thus separating from previous faint romantic colors and giving way to newer, more refined and more decisive notes. These shades can be matched very easily, too.
Marsala can be used in the total block variant or in its chic and fierce combination with black, in a match with a plain velvet or with some vivid red and green variants for those who wants a less formal and cheerful effect. Another option is a matching between marsala and sky blue for a more sophisticated and cool look.
Among our fabrics, a special mention is to be paid to coordinated fabric of Cottage Collection (30% Cotton and 70% Polyester, see picture on top left). It unites the solid color to a wide lawn full of red and green flowers. Mykonos fabric from Movida Collection (100% Trevira CS, see picture on top right) vertical weaved and made of thin stripes and finally the fabric from Opera Collection (100% silk, see picture on the bottom) blending different some red or black shades with a very refined result.
